The morning begins with a yawn, a growl and a scratch. Nothing specific on my mind other than hope, love, and fear. Why do we do each? Why is one more dominate than the other? Who wins the war within the heart and the mind?
Love is a mystical creature who lurks in the light, but sometimes fear makes the decision to worry and then hope begins to struggle. I don’t feel much like struggling today, therefore I choose to let love glow and light to enter my fearful places. Struggle is a fist fight between what my mind knows to be true and my heart allows it’s self to believe. The two combined are a ruth-full bunch to be reckoned with, and can take on the biggest monsters of fear, but what about those days when fear rules both the mind and the heart? Failures are about to happen and in the end on some occasions emotions rule the light.
So what do we do mid struggle and what do we think is the real answer? Is it as simple as a decision made in the mind and then the heart follows? But what if the heart is to afraid to believe that in the end, love is the hero, and fear is a defeated giant? Go ask Goliath!
I myself will always choose hope even when doubt has slapped my face with a sting of a salty tear. Hope is the weapon I use when I can’t see in the dark and I stumble over my emotions. Hope is the decision I trust when my heart is afraid and hope is the power when all the evils of fear are peaking their darkened little heads from around a corner of life that is just ahead and I don’t know what is on the other side of the turn. I believe in hope, she is my friend.
Hope is more than my imagination, hope is more than a feeling, a symbol, an attitude, or even a true story with a happy ending. Hope is a first kiss from a beautiful girl. Hope is, she will laugh at a corny. Hope is the tears of being wanted and loved in return. Hope is that new job with a bigger paycheck. Hope is finding an old penny, there will be enough. Hope stands up tall and proud with a cape of humility draped around someone we recognize is struggling. Hope is protection for the weak. Hope is a seed to be shared with the hungry. and love is the water that makes it grow.
